LAST CHANCE: Gretchen Green's Canned Dogs at La Galleria

See Gretchen Green's fabulous Canned Dogs exhibit now on view at La Galleria through this Sunday, October 20th only!

Gretchen Green worked for more than 30 years at La MaMa. She retired to become a Grandma and an artist. Gretchen made many props and masks for the Great Jones Repertory Company over the years and is now working on her own art. The pieces in this solo exhibition are large mosaics made from soda cans, olive oil cans, cookie tins, beer cans, popcorn cans and other cans. Most of the pieces are of dogs but there’s also a huge cock too. (you can say huge rooster if you must) The animals are expressive and funny. Gretchen describes herself as a modern day folk artist. She makes art out of discarded objects giving them a new “upcycled” life.
