Vivien Goldman a/k/a "The Punk Professor" has had such an interesting life and career.  We are thrilled to have her here at La MaMa working with August Darnell on the world premiere of CHERCHEZ LA FEMME, May 20 - June 12, 2016.

Not only is Vivien a professor of Punk at The Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU Tisch as well as the author of not one, but two books about Bob Marley and a book about Kid Creole and The Coconuts, but a collection of Vivien Goldman's music "Resolutionary: Songs 1979-82" is being released on the European indie label, Staubgold. The tracks include solo work as well as music of The Flying Lizards and the Parisian duo Chantage.

Vivien is co-writing the book for CHERCHEZ LA FEMME with August Darnell, of Kid Creole and the Coconuts - whose music is featured in the musical. The musical will play The Ellen Stewart Theatre at La MaMa mid-May through mid-June.

And finally, Vivien is featured on the cover of the first issue of Rough Trade magazine in June!
