Meet the Cast of BURNISHED BY GRIEF: A ROMANTIC COMEDY
Sam Kulik plays "Tuba Guy" Talking Band's BURNISHED BY GRIEF: A ROMANTIC COMEDY.
Sam Kulik is in his third Talking Band production, having also worked with theater-makers Banana Bag & Bodice, Cynthia Hopkins, and Cesar Alvarez. His own music blends far-reaching conceptual ideas with inventive musicianship; see 2015's "The Broadcast" (the setting of an entire baseball game to music), 2012's "Escape from Society" (a fascinating new collection of song-poems), and his operatic collaboration "Talibam! and Sam Kulik Discover AtlantAss".
La MaMa presents
BURNISHED BY GRIEF:
A ROMANTIC COMEDY

A love letter to the chaos of cramped New York City living. This music-fused, sinister romantic comedy is inspired by Obie award-winning playwright Ellen Maddow’s work as a mediator in Brooklyn Civil Court, where she has witnessed how the city’s extraordinary diversity, combined with close living, has produced complex misunderstandings and remarkable relationships.
