Megan Terry's Viet Rock opened at La MaMa in May of 1966. This anti-war rock muscial was directed by Joseph Chaikin of The Open Theater. Predating Hair, Viet Rock was the first theater piece to protest the war in Vietnam.
La MaMa's From The Vault series continues with a free concert reading of Viet Rock, directed by the From The Vault series curator, George Ferencz. The reading will happen at 7:30pm on Tuesday, December 9th at The Club @ La MaMa.
