La MaMa Puppet Slam 2013

A one-night only puppetry-slam, featuring contemporary short-form puppet and object theatre. These super short works make their point fast and furious, and bring artists and audiences together for an evening of puppetry mash up fun.

What is your favorite virtue?
Kindness and forgiveness (I count that as one
whole virtue).
What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
It doesn't get any worse than being
trapped, by yourself, in a submarine. With no can opener, and no sketch pad.
Dear lord...
What is your idea of earthly happiness?
Flipping through books in the children's
section of a library. Especially one with a rolling ladder and lots of windows.
Where would you like to live?
In a Frank Lloyd Wright tree house with a full
workshop and rehearsal studio space in the neighboring tree.
To what faults do you feel most indulgent?
Impatience and inability to focus when hungry.
Who are your favorite composers?
Carl Stalling.
Who are your favorite painters?
Klimt, Wayne White.
What are your favorite names?
Grace, Madeline.
What is the natural talent you’d most like to be gifted with?
Sing and dance like Gene Kelly or...
Perimeter shooting like Kevin Durant.
What is the quality you most admire in a man?
The ability to lift heavy objects.
What is the quality you most admire in a woman?
The ability to overlook the fact that I
can't lift heavy objects.
What is your favorite occupation?
I love brainstorming, performing and
creating new stories. Also, eating.
If you were to have been born another person, who would you have liked to be?
Perhaps Roald Dahl, or perhaps Mel Blanc.
Your most marked characteristic?
A craving to tell a good joke, no matter
how false.
What do you most value in your friends?
Unabashed optimism and obnoxious determination
What is your principle defect?
My inability to recall birthdays- my
inability to stay in touch with friends who are far away. Also baked goods...
What would you like to be?
A force for positive change.
Who are your favorite prose writers?
Jules Feiffer, Daniel Pinkwater, Michael
Chabon.
Who are your favorite poets?
Wyatt Townley, Shel Silverstein.
Who are your favorite heroes in fiction?
Winnie the poo.
Who are your heroes in real life?
Teachers- almost all of them, Neil
degrades Tyson.
Who are your favorite heroines in fiction?
Bernice ("Bernice bobs her Hair" - F. Scott Fitzgerald).
Who are your favorite heroines of history?
Amelia Earhart, Lucille Ball.
Who are your favorite heroines in real life?
Amelia Earhart, Lucille Ball.
What is it you most dislike?
Talking about the weather
What historical figures do you most despise?
Christopher Columbus.
What natural gift would you most like to possess?
Punctuality.
How would you like to die?
With a standing ovation, and my family
backstage.
What is your present state of mind?
Pride at having the patience to answer
these questions.
What is your motto?
Life's too short to be unhappy.
